Due to a retirement and some additional need in our team from September, we have two vacancies for qualified Teaching Assistants:
We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for a part time teaching assistant to join our compassionate team here at St. Patrick’s. We are proud to be part of a warm, caring and welcoming Catholic school, where our children all learn, grow and shine. The successful candidate will passionately contribute to our dedicated and enthusiastic team of teaching and non-teaching staff who strive to provide the very best for our children. You will work alongside the class teacher, being fully involved in teaching, learning and assessment and supporting individual children and/or groups of children on a daily basis. The successful candidate will:
- Love working with and supporting young people
- Have excellent communication skills
- Can work as part of a team
- Have high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
- Be flexible, adaptable and able to use their own initiative
- Have the ability to motivate and inspire young children
- Have recent and relevant experience of working in a Primary School and/or an Early Years setting
- Be punctual and reliable
- Be an exemplary practitioner
- Have good subject knowledge
- Be able to adjust activities to include children of all abilities including children with SEND
- Be committed to whole school improvement through being part of, and contributing to, a whole school team experienced in promoting the well-being of pupils, providing guidance and nurture
- Maintain excellent relationships with parents, children and staff.
This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis. The post will be for 5 mornings (Mon – Fri) with the additional hours made up on 2-3 afternoons. The days and hours in the afternoon can be flexible to meet the needs of both the school and the candidate.
An additional 5 days a week lunchtime cover (60 minutes per day) could be added to this post. Welfare post will be paid at Foundation Living Wage. There is also the opportunity for the successful candidate to be given additional hours to lead catch up / intervention sessions (time / hours to be negotiated) and to work in our afterschool and breakfast club provision when needed.
